ScoutChecker

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-07

ScoutLabo ("we", "our") operates ScoutChecker (the "Service") under the privacy practices described below. This policy applies to all users of the Service.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account information: name, email address, password (stored hashed)
  • Design data: netlists, BOMs, circuit configuration files, analysis results
  • Usage logs: feature use, analysis runs, access timestamps
  • Technical data: IP address, browser fingerprint, cookies (for session management)

2. Treatment of Design Data (Critical)

Netlist, BOM, and circuit configuration files uploaded to the Service are handled as follows.

2.1 No Use for AI / Machine Learning Training

We do not use design data uploaded by users to train, fine-tune, or evaluate machine learning models, nor to construct evaluation datasets, nor for any similar purpose. If we ever wish to change this in the future, we will not do so without prior notice and explicit opt-in consent from each user.

2.2 No Third-Party Disclosure

We do not provide design data to third parties except in the following cases:

  • The user has given explicit consent (e.g. team-sharing within the same tenant)
  • Required by law (subpoena, court order)
  • Necessary to protect our rights, property, or safety

2.3 No Sharing with Device Manufacturers

We do not sell, lease, or share user design data with semiconductor manufacturers, EDA vendors, or any third-party component supplier.

2.4 Analysis Processing

Our analysis engines run entirely on servers under our administrative control. Design data is never transmitted to external cloud AI services or third-party APIs.

3. Treatment of Usage Logs

Feature usage records (project creation, analysis runs, etc.) are aggregated in anonymized form for service quality improvement, defect detection, and UX optimization. They are not used to identify individual users or analyze the contents of designs.

4. Data Storage

  • Location: AWS Asia-Pacific (Tokyo) region, in Japan
  • Encryption in transit: HTTPS (TLS 1.2 or higher) on all communications. For at-rest encryption, see the Security page.
  • Backups: taken periodically for disaster recovery; deletion requests propagate to backups within 30 days.

5. Your Rights

5.1 Right to Access

You can view and download all design data and account information you have uploaded to the Service at any time, from the profile screen and individual project screens.

5.2 Right to Erasure

You can delete your data via any of the following:

  • Per-item deletion: each project, file, or commit has an explicit Delete control.
  • Bulk project purge: from the profile page, "Delete all projects" wipes every project while keeping the account.
  • Account deletion: same screen, "Delete account" removes the account along with every project, library, design rule set, and usage log.

Deletion requests execute immediately on the live system and storage, and are propagated to backups within 30 days.

5.3 Right to Inquire / Correct

For inquiries about the contents of this policy or its interpretation, contact contact@scoutlabo.com.

6. Cookies

The Service uses cookies for authenticated session management and convenience. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Google Analytics is used; IP addresses are recorded with anonymization enabled.

7. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be revised as needed. Material changes are announced via email and in-product notice. Any change that weakens the design-data clauses (Section 2) requires explicit user consent before taking effect.
